Sam Russell has signed a new 1 deal, which is brilliant news. Head and shoulders the best keeper in the National League and at nearly 35 he's at the prime age for a goalkeeper. Given our style of play it's vital we have someone who excels in the sweeper keeper role, which he does.

The NLP have linked us to defender Sam Magri of Dover.

Seems like he's opted to leave at the end of his contract, with Fleetwood, Rochdale, Bradford, Peterborough, Hibernian and Motherwell in for him as well.

That would be an excellent signing for you lot if true, have always rated the lad ever since I first saw him play for Dover. Of course, it won't be easy getting him to sign for a L2 club with so many other L1 and SPL clubs in for him.

Sorry Chris but when it comes to head and shoulders there is only one keeper..........

Local radio guy suggesting that Artell is suggesting that we may actually want Wes Brown. Intriguing. At the price he'd come at, I'd rather we sort out the midfield and right back spot before a vanity signing.

One of our outgoing players, who divides opinion at Swindon, Raphael Rossi Branco may be signing for Boavista in Portugal. He must have some agent!

Morecambe fans, Ryan Edwards? We've signed him.

Can't say I know too much about him really, or noticed any opposition fans singling him out as a good performer, although Miller got all the plaudits at Dover last season.

Not a transfer rumour as such, but apparently Aberdeen have enquired about Keith Curle as it looks like there manager is heading to Sunderland.

Don't be so sure after our experience with top flight Portuguese players last season!

If they approach him he'd be stupid not to go. He'll probably never get the chance to manage a club in European competition again.

I hope he stays, but wouldn't begrudge him for taking this opportunity.

Absolutely. Not only European football but also joining one of the biggest clubs in Scotland, and surely a much bigger wage.

We'll struggle next season if he does leave, especially when you consider we're a few weeks away from pre season with a small squad.

Just seen Jon Nolan signed for Shrewsbury on a 3 year deal yesterday, teaming back up with Paul Hurst. Bit of a blow for Chesterfield that one, I take it? I know he started well last season, did he carry that on throughout the seaaon? I had him earmarked as potential Team of the Season material in this division.
Not that arsed really. Like the rest of our side he was pretty garbage last season. Saying that we have about 12 players signed up so shouldn't really be letting players go right now..

Ritchie Humphreys was still on the go last season?! Bloody hell, I'm sure he was at Sheff Wednesday at the same time as Chris Waddle and Des Walker.

Our attempts to bring Scott Brown back to Cheltenham permanently are now dead after Wycombe decided he was no longer available.

I don’t blame them, he’s their player and it’s their decision. Gutted that he’s not coming back though.

So am i gutted as it means Blackman will not be coming in on loan from Chelsea again, happy to have Brown as our number one keeper though as he did well until his injury and Blackman came inand was outstanding for us last season.

Get the Accrington one in instead.

We've just announced the signing of Marek Štěch, a keeper from Sparta Prague. Can't say I've ever heard of him, any of his former clubs (mostly Yeovil) have any opinions?

The best piece of business any League 2 club will do this summer, hands down.

I'm gobsmacked and incredibly jealous, he's quite simply a superb keeper. He played for us for two seasons and in the year we got promoted to the Championship I bet he saved us a dozen points on his own. He's also a fantastic bloke, he regularly tweets about how fond his memories are of Yeovil and winning the play off final.

You've played a blinder there!

Judging by Wikipedia we should keep him off Twitter wherever possible :bl::bg::bg:

Sounds great though, thanks for the feedback!

Yeah that was really unlike him, disappointing but he's not done anything like it since so hopeful he's learned his lesson. He'll get a fantastic reception at Huish Park.

New keeper sounds decent then, glad we haven't dicked about waiting on the off chance Walton might be available or gone for a year long loan for a youngster.

First 2 signings seem to indicate that Jones is taking on board some of the mistakes of last season, hopefully a few more to follow.
