Kristian Dennis signs for Notts for an undisclosed fee.

150k according to the Post.

Very good signing tbh. Was hoping we'd go for someone like Dennis

I can’t remember the last time we had an owner and manager capable of realising where we needed strengthening, identifying and then signing their top targets within two weeks of the season ending. We’re in a really good place.

Tbf, it's been a good season financially. High gates, play offs, FA Cup run.... Record sponsorship. Sold youth player to Liverpool

Hemmings and Kellet are great signings for Notts. Not so sure about Dennis, especially at that sort of money.

Good start to their transfer window.

Are Notts County doing that boom or bust thing them and Bury do every so often?

Fair play to Dennis, he's served his time in non league and wants to stay in the FL. Can't blame him. He'll keep scoring goals that guy, he's just a good poacher. Clever.

Kellet is a good signing as well. He's very good on the ball and can beat a guy. Good player

His touch was one of his best features.

Shame it wasn’t his finishing touch, he’d miss 3 out of 4 sitters, just not good enough. It’s not to say I didn’t like him as a person, genuinely a decent lad.

WHat we need to do this summer, unlike last is go and find someone better.

As if oxford at one stage offered him £6k a week!

Fuck me, if Notts County sign Hemmings i'll chuck myself in the River Maun.

Great player in this league. Got everything you need for a striker at this level. His finishing can be a bit ropey, but he has everything else. Build up play is brilliant.

We should be signing him, he wanted to stay. Flitcroft is an idiot.
He'll work lovely with Dennis then. I imagine you've got 35+ goals from that strikeforce. County are looking well

The fee paid for Dennis (and presumably Hemmings) is a big one for us, but one we can presumably afford because we had so much money coming in that wasn’t budgeted (higher crowds than expected, cup run, sold a teenager to Liverpool for a decent wedge).

Wages wise I suspect we’re similar - Collin, Forte and Milsom who were all released were our highest earners and probably on more/similar to the new guys, as was Michael O’Connor who has been offered a new deal but presumably on reduced terms after a serious knee injury.

It does show how well Nolan did last season after something of an austerity campaign when he had so many players under contract that he didn’t sign taking home significant packets.

Kellett was absolutely unreal when you beat us at the Proact, I imagine he can’t be like that every week but one of our problems last season was that we were very solid but a bit predictable and didn’t really have anyone who would run with the ball or do the unexpected, so hopefully he can help to change that.

I do wonder if Stead will now leave. Would have no qualms if he stayed as he’s a reasonable option, but will clearly be sat on the bench and has had lucrative offers from abroad. Another top earner as well who had his contract automatically extended due to appearances, so wouldn’t surprise me if we know he’s going and have been able to use his wages.

Hemmings was rumoured to be on on £6k a week at Oxford, of which we were paying half last season. He'll be on a fair whack, and a decent transfer fee needed.

Kellet is just a good footballer. One of the very few bright sparks last season, in a very poor side. Wants the ball, confident with it, can move it quickly if there's a pass on, finds space well, can cut inside a fire a shot on net. He's just a tad injury prone if I was to cite a weakness, and not very well built. He's a good signing. Notts County might be a good early bet for league winners

Personally I'd keep Stead. We need a target man, can't go down the same route of having only strikers of the same type. I do think Hemmings will play on the wing a fair bit. I think we could be going full Nolan ball and playing 451 next year

I can see us going 3-5-2, particularly if we're looking to bring Ben Hall back on loan. Would explain the surplus of central midfielders as well. Dan Jones and Tootle are perfect as wing backs, and Kellett can fill in there when Jones is inevitably injured.

35 goals from 2 strikers?! and then you add Jon Stead into the equation and we're looking at...35 goals!

Don't you rate Stead then? Funny, you've never mentioned this before.... ;)

If you create 5 sitters theres half a chance hemmings will maybe get 1. He does like penalties though, especially in the 99th minute

15 x 5 = 75 - some creative midfield mastery you've got going on there
