Oh cool, he looks a jolly soul, has he got any cash behind him? (can't really mock as we have Del Boy running our club!)
Not a shedload, but enough to pay off Sports Direct to call our stadium Boundary Park again, for example. Time will tell if he's good for the club, but I like little things he's done so far to bring the fans back closer to the club.

sometimes (I guess) its these little things that can galvanise the club, it sounds like he is making steps in the right direction and getting the fans onside and behind the team is half the battle.

Stevenage have signed Scott Cuthbert after his release from us. Very good centre half for this level although is prone to the odd clanger as we saw more in his first season than the last.

Good signing for them id suggest. That and they couldn’t go a whole window without signing an ex Luton player, so fills that role nicely.

We've signed Alex Whitmore from Chesterfield on a one-year deal.
Most predictable signing of the summer and one I was hoping wasn't going to happen. Can we please have a summer in which we don't sign a load of players who have just been relegated? Hopefully he can prove me wrong, but I'm calling this as MJ's first mistake.

Delighted with Jose back. I know he has had his problems but he is for me the most talented player we have had in the last ten years. I hope he has his head screwed on now he is a dad.

He’s too good for them really.

Shola Ameobi's Notts County
Callum Chettle to Notts in the least surprising transfer of all time.

Hopefully we sign enough central midfielders that Nolan loses track and forgets Liam Noble exists.

He's a young lad and we need 3 centre backs ideally so not necessarily first team.

Looks like we're going to sign this Omar Eddhari who's scored 30 from 90 from the wing in Sweden, looks like a bloody good signing.

Certainly does, sad to lose Ozzy...but Winchester looks like a fairly decent player.
Winchester is class. Was popular at Oldham but too inconsistent, seems to have had a great season at Cheltenham.

There really is no telling with players from the continent at this level. When we first came down under Ricardo Moniz we went mad and signed all sorts - Eredivisie players, former Belgian internationals, Slovenian youth internationals. Most of them were pretty terrible as they simply couldn't adapt to a much more physical league, despite obviously being really talented.

I believe something similar happened at Port Vale when they came down.

Peterborough press now linking us with both Miller and Morais in a potential double swoop. Waters being an assumed done deal so would be happy with we can get all three done although not as arsed about Miller.

Wouldn’t be far off set for the new season then!

It happened when we went down from League One after Uncle Norman allowed Bruno Ribeiro to bring in an absolute load of garbage from all over the continent. It was an absolute nightmare and we’ve only just got rid of the last few.

Kjell Knopps is the last and probably the only one of that squad I’d like to see given a decent chance at this level he’s sticking around for a bit to try and win a contract after a very lengthy injury.

We did it in league one after a top half finish when we tore the squad up and tried the experiment.

We signed all sorts, Monaco youngsters, the likes of Tavares from the Portuguese top flight and Saleiro who had played up front for Sporting Lisbon.

Was a fucking disaster and ultimately led to the mess we are in now, most were paid off last summer.

The highlight was the cult hero Curaçao Crouch... Regino Cicilia. Aka Big Reg! He was so useless that because he didn’t know what he was going to do neither did the defenders so it actually helped him! Was slightly gutted he left as would of been funny to see a hairy arsed league two defender try and figure him out. Still better than Tyrone Barnett! Cicilia your breaking their hearts....

Aye it's something we'll have to just trust Jolley with, inevitably Jolley is going to sign a few from abroad and given his ability to polish a turd, I do trust his ability to get players playing.

Really hoping Kjell gets a deal. That injury at Dale was horrific, he got really ill with it too (you just have to look at last seasons squad photo to see how Ill he was!)

He was decent Bolton away aside where Sammy Ameobi ravaged him. Deserves a short term deal... we’d probably have been a few points better off considering how much we got done on that left hand side when Pugh was there!

I can't say I'm convinced that Miller is the answer, but Morais looks like a good signing if it comes off. I'm assuming the guy from Villa wont happen in a million years.

He was class for us last season, undoubtedly my player of the season. Played out of position for most of it though and that could be why he's decided to go to FGR - of course the actual reason is (if rumours are to be believed) he's been offered an absolute wedge more than we can afford/are prepared to pay, plus a massive signing on fee.

Expect a massive fan fare from FGR tomorrow about how getting him is some massive coup, and how he believes in what they're building, blah, blah, blah.

Like any player at this level, he's far from irreplaceable and we carry on regardless.

Looks like Andy Kellett is one of the players signing for us tomorrow - not sure why we’re going after Chesterfield’s entire relegation team!

I'll take that, I've struggled with a good fantasy football name since Oh My Bogle.

Jolley has done such a good job so far, but starting afresh with a blank slate and 46 games to play and coming in to save a side from going down are completely different tasks. It's all well and good putting our trust in him, largely because that is all we can do, but we also need to keep our feet on the ground. I'm obviously fully behind the guy, but there seems to be a feeling developing that he is some kind of messiah. Not necessarily yourself, by the way. Just a general observation.

We’ve signed 18 year old midfielder Tom Crawford from Chester for an undisclosed fee. Highly rated, apparently a decent breakthrough second half of the season, just called up to England C. No complaints here!
Decent passer of the ball.. but that was about it from what I saw last season. Though to be fair he was in an horrific Chester side.

Have to cringe at how salty our fans are being over the Winchester to FGR deal on Twitter. He's getting quite a lot more money to do the same job, any sane person would do as he's doing. Seen a lot of comments along the lines of 'he was rubbish second half of the season anyway'...absolute bollocks, he was second only to Eisa for player of the season and is a fantastic signing for FGR.

He was awful in his last two games (ironically FGR and Coventry), but I agree with you, the saltiness is hilarious and I voted for him as my player of the season.

By the same token, let's not paint him as something he wasn't. As someone on our forum has just put - he's no Grant McCann, Marlon Pack or even John Finnigan. He was a good player in a poor team. He's certainly not irreplaceable and, other than his inevitable goal or goals against us when we play FGR next season, I doubt he'll even be mentioned by Cheltenham fans in future years.

Paul Farman is wanted by Stevenage and another L2 side. Ollie Palmer is attracting a fair bit of interest, as is Elliott Whitehouse, who's out of contract.

Farman needs to leave, really. I'd be content if Palmer and Whitehouse stayed but if we can get the numbers we need in quite early, I can see them both leaving.

Didn't look close to be FL level here last season. I thought he'd step up ok, but really struggled. That said, he had the odd injury, which seemed to set him back.

You're sounding a bit salty there too though. Why not just thank him and wish him all the best? He did very well for you.

I’d rephrase that to ‘Winchester can be class’. Very good player on his day but failed to do it consistently for us. Granted that was a division above and a couple of years ago now so he may have matured since. Would have taken him back at Latics at this level so think it’s a smart move by FGR.

He turned in a MoM performance in the Ebbsfleet semi-final, but overall has been no more than average. If Tollitt recovers from his latest set-back then might find it hard to get a regular starting spot.
