He's from around the SW area I think. Played in Swindon's youth team. Might not be as big a block as you may think.
Interesting. Would be the ideal player for us so would hope we have at least made an enquiry.

Well the following players from last seasons Shrewsbury promotion squad whose contracts ended are currently looking for clubs

Jermaine Grandison, CD or RB (rumoured Birmingham have shown interest)
Andy Mangan (Forward)
Jean Louis Akpa Akpro (winger/forward)
Bobby Grant (att/midfielder)

It has also been stated that some of last seasons fringe players with a year on their contract left are being offered a release settlement, Ashley Vincent is one of those who has already gone, those other players possibly include Scott Vernon (forward) Halstead (GK) Cameron Gayle (RB)!

All will easily do a job League 2

Also Wildig went out on loan to Morecambe last season who they have now signed on a 2 year contract, a great signing for them, he was our player of the season when we were relegated from League One and for whatever reason Mickey Mellon overlooked him!

We've signed Ismail Yakubu after his release from Newport, can any Newport fans/anyone say what he's like?

Would be a quality addition. Also wouldn't be surprised if you'd beaten a few teams to his signature

He was great for us when we got promoted. Is a good player. Can still do a job in league 2.

Hendon has confirmed in an interview on BBC London with Phil Parry that we will be signing more players next week.

He also said he has now employed his coaching staff.

One of the signings is to be a young Newcastle keeper on loan - Believed to be Freddie Woodman.

Better than Wilkinson?

He pisses all over Wilkinson. I'd have Doe over most CBs in this division. He's a superb defender. The one thing that has stopped him pushing up the leagues is his distribution. He's rapid, reads the game excellently and is just all round solid. I'm absolutely gutted to be losing him.

Pompey were also meant to be in for him but a few suggestions he has chosen us. Would love him here, especially on a proper contract not a poxy half season loan

We'll be signing Burgess from P'Boro very soon so that rules us out.

A great signing for you. He did well for us at both Conference and League 2 level.

That's a pretty big call, because Wilkinson has been superb for us for 80% of last season.

Doe has been superb for 6 years with only very minor blips in places. He's a better all round defender than Wilkinson is. Wilkinson will likely develop though over the next few years. I'd take Doe every time at the moment though.

Rumour that Wimbledon's Georgie Francomb could be signing for Swindon.

Never heard of him. Any good?

Probably one of our best players though that isn't saying much. Wasn't brilliant last season but has a great cross when he is focused and is a good RM player. Not implausible, but I don't think it would happen. Would be gutted if it did. Where did you hear it?

Burgess is a CB, Mcquod is a striker? The Bournemouth link with Tubbs makes me think it might be likely, and Bournemouth to Portsmouth isn't as far as Bournemouth to Wimbledon.

You said you signing Burgess ruled you out of signing Mcquoid but it doesn't, as Mcquoid is a ST and Burgess a CB.

Just the usual rumour popping up on our forum.

Apparently our Chairman has been an admirer since he was at Spurs and Norwich - which he has connections to both clubs - and the fact we have no players at the moment!

We've signed Jordan Gibbons on a one year deal, a winger from QPR. Was one of those who played in the trial games a few weeks back.

We've just announced the signing of Stephen O'Donnell on a two year deal.

Right back from Partick Thistle. Blackpool tried to sign him in January apparently, had a bid of £100k accepted but he turned them down (smart lad). I've never heard of him but then I don't pay much attention to Scottish football. At least we have a right back now.

If we do try and sign Harriman too, will be interesting to see who nails down that RB position - good to have competition. Our defence is as good as sorted now.

Also played for Scotland U21s, so he'll be able to understand Cuthbert alongside him!
