Rumarn Burrell, one of our striker youth graduates that we offered a pro contract to in April has gone to Middlesborough for an undisclosed fee.

Radio Humberside reporting it as 100k

Hopefully with a good sell on clause too.

Apparently a league one striker from a southern club could be signing shortly, we will like it and was pitched to Askey...

Apparently we are in talks with Paris Cowan Hall

Yep turns out it’s PCH. I’d take him in a heartbeat to replace Hannant! Pacey winger which we’ve cried out for down the wide flanks of Vale Park. Him and Wozza on the wings would be a piece of the jigsaw complete.

He’s on massive money for L2 (especially given how not that good he is), would be surprised if anyone was willing to pay it especially given how he generally lives off his reputation at the odd club from years ago, 10 last season I think, 4 were pens.

Just seen he scored 11 in 12 when Wellens was Oldham manager. He wouldn't be on massive money here but we've cleared a load off the wage bill so who knows how we'll be approaching the market. Couple less players on slightly higher wages might be a decent approach considering we had about 5 squad members who barely played last season on decent wages.

Doyle, like a few players of ours last season, gets a lot of unfair criticism. Accordingly to our fan base, every play we have is dog shit - every single one. Don’t you think it’s just a little bit coincidental - it’s just reeks of a bad season, overall; nothing to do with lack of ability/quality.

The same fans pulling these players to bits are the same ones who creamed themselves when they were first signed. It transpired Edin Rahic was the Resource Planner, so therefore they’re all garbage. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing.

None of the players complimented each other’s style of play - it was a complete mismatch from the off.

Anyway, back to Eoin Doyle. He received NO service at all last season. He plays well with a target man, and we failed to support him. We had no wingers, and played narrow all season.

Doyle WILL score goals at this level. He’s more than capable in L1, never mind L2.

We paid £300k for him and he earns £5k per week. Unless someone is willing to match his wages O.N.O, then he’s going no where - and I’m quite happy with that.

What odd club was that? Tbf, you’d think he could do a job in the basement.

If it is true, with the supposed costs involved, it at least shows some sign of intent - which is what fans want really, even if it doesn’t work out.

How did Caddis do for you? Going by names and only names it's incredible you went down, similar to us in 10/11.

I have no idea if Doyle to Swindon is financially feasable or not but i'd welcome the signing.

Gary Bowyer wanted to sign Doyle on loan when he was in charge at Blackpool so I'd expect him to want to keep him at Bradford. Then again, if there's a chance of freeing up those wages you could bring in another three players.

Caddis did well when he first came in. He steadied the ship somewhat and he made us more robust in the defensive areas. He’s a leader, too, which is another value we lacked as a team from the off.

Caddis is a seasoned professional, but I imagine he will go to a L1 club.

Some fans were disheartened that we didn’t offer him a contract, but the reality is, Gary Bowyer already has his first choice RB in Kelvin Mellor. He was with Blackpool under Bowyer when he achieved promotion there.

We also have Joe Riley. He left Man Utd U23’s as their captain who has been blighted with injuries. Lots of potential, but we haven’t seen too much of it. He too is on very large wages, so to have Mellor, Riley and Caddis at right back, it just wasn’t financially viable.

For the record I don’t mind Doyle and would prefer to keep him with a big unit alongside him but for his wages you’d expect more goals, everyone thinks back to him scoring for fun at Oldham/Chesterfield but at many of his clubs (or which he’s had a fair few) he’s been far from prolific. It sounds backwards to say but his hard work going looking for the ball works against him because he gets himself miles away from the box where you’d want your number 9 to be. Next season I’d be expecting 15 goals from him as par.

On Caddis, our most consistent player over the season, a shoe in for a L1 (maybe SPL) team, our best right back for sure and the only one I really wanted to stay.

He has to play in a two up front though, and alongside someone who will create space for Doyle. Otherwise he's a bit lost.

Someone on Exeweb says he’s been sworn to secrecy on the player’s identity but we’re due to announce a signing early this week.

The only clue is that he’s from a L2 club, which doesn’t help much. Would love someone like Aaron Collins or Bevis Mugabi, but it will probably be someone uninspiring like Jon Stead.

Believe he’s a CB, but could be anyone.

Gillesphey at Carlisle has been mentioned but don’t know much about him other than he came through Newcastle’s academy

Like Lancashire and Robertson.

I’m smirking already!
