Steven Schumacher's still in the Football League, Christ.

One of the biggest mercenaries in the lower leagues and one of the worst players to wear the shirt for us.

Weird how Stevenage have had mercenary shit like Elding, Zola, Walton and Schumacher on their books as well as us though.

We've signed former Rochdale midfielder Bastien Hery on a one-year deal.
I've never heard of him, but I instantly like him because of his hair. Brilliant!

Assume he's a central midfielder? If so, that's definitely our strongest area so far.

Apparently he caused controversy last season by referring to Rochdale as 'a dump', and has appeared in an episode of Robson Green's extreme fishing

Just a replacement for Potts I presume.

We've signed Omar Sowunmi from Ipswich and Shaun Jeffers from Newport, both of whom were in the trial games.

Mentioned this before but Jeffers' girlfriend lived in the flat next to mine at Uni and he was there every week pretty much - admittedly I haven't met a vast array of footballers but you'll struggle to find a nicer one than him - really hope he does well and nails down a place somewhere.

Good stuff.

As we all know, TK will only accept an offer that is right for the club and I think that would be in excess of 250k plus a sell-on fee.
He's a right back, right? £250k for a right back proven at non-League level? No chance.

If it hasn't been mentioned already, we've signed Danny Holmes from Tranmere.

Seen L1 RBs go for half that price
That's the point. We don't need to sell and the player is happy at Barnet. If they really want him then they will need to go big.

We have just rejected an offer from Swansea worth £750,000 for a seventeen year old striker. Our chairman want's to keep our best players so it will require silly money for us to sell our best players. Yids is proven at league two level as a 20 year old and can play central mid, right wing, wing back or full back

Literally never works out like this. It continues to amaze me that little clubs think they have the bargaining power just because they have the asset under contract.

I'm proper chuffed with this one, some of the Rochdale fans seem very disappointed to see him go and think that their manager didn't give him a proper go of it. Glad we've signed someone who's talented instead of just the hard-working players as well.

That's brightened me up a lot amidst plenty of reasons to be negative about the club. He's got a great barnet as well.

We have already refused two offers, do you think that we will sell if they don't offer more money?
Do you think we will sell because the player decides he wants to go?

If a player wants to go, they go.

Keanu Marsh-Brown wanted to go but the Chairman refused offers and now he will sit out his contract for another year or until an offer the Chairman accepts comes in.

I thought you stuck him on the transfer list to raise money but didn't get big enough offers?

Then with the greatest of respect your chairman is an idiot.
Yep :)
However he got the freehold to Underhill for £10k and the sale is rumoured to be £15 million and the turnover of the Hive is several million so he must be doing something right.

He wasnt getting in the team and the club transfer listed him . The player wanted to go and an offer came in from Blackpool which the chairman refused. Keanu lost the plot over it and these days is barely seen.

The point is if our chairman will refuse offers he wants to go, then how much do you think he will ask for on a player he wants to keep? If he doesnt like the offer then the sale is off regardless of what the player wants.

Clubs of our sizes should never keep a player against his will though. Can be detrimental, luckily you were successful last season.

I'm probably being too harsh. If a player asks to leave and a club meet his valuation then no problem. All I'm really trying to get across is our chairman will always drive a hard bargain imo.

Maybe. I suspect it also sends a message to other players thinking of forcing a move. KMB will probably appear on the bench a few times or go out on loan. Problem is many fans would rather he was never seen again after his outbursts.
I don't think I'm alone in feeling it was badly handled but TK wasn't happy with the offer and KMB accused him of preventing his progress so that was that.

If you have an asset that you don't need to sell in a hurry, then why let it go for less than you think it is worth? Football is a business, not a charity.

Plus the offer was from Blackpool... I'm sure we've been bitten before by bigger clubs in financial difficulty not paying what they bought for. Tresor Kandol to Leeds Utd spring to mind.

Fwiw, we were willing to sell to FGR but the Marsh Brown refused.

What about prospective signings? It doesn't send a good message to them, they all see Barnet (and any other League 2 side) as a stepping stone.
