Harsh.

An unassured start away Burton but after that was more than adequate and pulled off a sensational save against Exeter at home - save of the season for me.

Quite raw and wasn't what we needed at the time, but no reason why he won't be a good player at this level.
He was something of a knight in shining armour for us when we came up from the Conference. All our keepers kept getting injured and he was our emergency loan. After a funny goal conceded in his opening game at Gateshead (cross caught the wind and flew straight in). He then played 3 play off games, conceding 2 goals - 1 penalty and 1 from point blank after he'd pulled off a worldie before hand.

Good keeper, shame he let himself down recently at Leicester but guess we all make mistakes, they just happen to vary in magnitude and publicity!

We've signed Omar Sowunmi from Ipswich and Shaun Jeffers from Newport, both of whom were in the trial games.
Was pretty dire in the Conference North when I saw him at Edgeley Park playing for Brackley last season.

How many of us can *honestly* say we've never filmed ourselves racially abusing prostitutes during an orgy?
That's a fair point, I like your style.

We were linked with him after his release from Leicester (naturally) and there was a big divide on our forum about the merits of employing him.

Billy Kee has signed for Accrington.

If he can rediscover his mojo from his Burton days that could be a very astute signing.

Nothing says inclusion like hiring a racist

Anyway Kee is a good singing. Team like Accy will build a team around him and that will help him a lot

Smith was at pains to make it clear he did not make any racist comments.

Confirmed that big Billy Paynter has joined Hartlepool.

Happy that we've managed to get rid of one of our highest earners.

Whatever happened to Billy Paytner, he was a real goal threat a few years ago, but for the last 2 years he's not been able to hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Normally when a club say they're not pursuing a target they end up signing a day later.

Billy Paynter has moved to a bigger ambitious club than Carlisle

Well, for us, he was nothing like a dangerous goal-threat, bar one game against Plymouth. He looked unfit, and didn't look good enough for League 2. Curle didn't like him, and he rarely made the matchday squad, solely because he was our 4th choice centre forward (and the fact he was unfit). He has scored 1 (One) league goal in the last 2 years, yet some fans still defend him.

A small proportion of our fans still think he had something to offer us, and blame Curle for poor management.

Some Pools fans are gonna be disappointed next season, saying that Paynter is a 'brilliant' signing. Many Carlisle fans were delighted to sign him last summer, and he looked half decent against Penrith in pre-season, but he soon proved to be a poor signing.

That said, he might be able to learn a thing or two from Rakish Bingham.

It's confirmed now the move..... The worst squad in our history + one of the best managers we've had ( for half a season ) = 22nd spot ..... I never predict Pools , it's pointless , but it's likely we will be better than last season

Who exactly are this mythical 'PC Brigade'? Not racially abusing prostitutes is called ordinary decent behaviour where I'm from, though you may have different standards.

Lenny did ok with us to be fair. Probably conference standard but I still think he was alright.
Made a wonder save that was going in the top corner then next minute he gets beat from 30 yards because he can't get down to it, then he's dropping crosses or kicking out of the ground, he was rubbish but you could see he was experienced.

Would of liked us to take a gamble on him. He's got issues with drink or something and he was seriously unfit when he was with us but there looked to be a good player in there. Think if he gets settled and focused he'll be very dangerous.

I bet we're one of them, we're meant to be going for one or two more wingers still.

Absolutely over the moon to get Billy off our books.

Hartlepool must have better pie shops than Carlisle.

Just read about 6 pages of this thread and have a few comments (mainly) on the ex-Daleys mentioned.

Jason Kennedy and Nicky Adams are good players and should do a good job for Carlisle and Northampton.

JL Akpa-Akpro is a good lad and would do a decent job as 3rd striker/winger/substitute/general nuisance at L2 level.

Bobby Grant is an excellent but mardy player, who will pick up goals at any level - and also lots of cards for diving and appalling tackles.

Jake Kean was pretty ordinary on loan - but we were a shambles at the time thanks to Steve Eyre's non-existent management skills.

Marc Richards is FAR better than Reuben Reid. If he became available, I'd have him back at San Spotty.

Scott Doe is one of, if not THE best centre backs we've faced in the league in recent years. Would love him to join us, but will probably go to someone with more money.
