Once a punk, always a punk! (at heart anyway!)

Couldn't get in to Black Flag back in the day, although I do have one of their albums at home.....I'll give it a whirl sometime.

Been listening to these guys again recently. Decent stuff from a band that were trying to be a bit different.

It's not really my cup of tea, but it is interesting and different. Gloomy video too which is always good.

So many different styles of "punk" out there, which is one reason I enjoy it so much.

Only listened to damaged by black flag but that's really good so probably should try some of their later stuff.

Don't think anyone has uploaded these couple of gems, but it doesn't matter if someone has. Any excuse to bump up this thread etc.

PS. 0.50 secs :woot:

Not really into Punk music, but I do like John Cooper Clarke who was a product of the Punk movement.

I'm not really into them Aber, but I like their Walk among us and Earth AD albums. Or rather, I like the music but hate the lyrics, as to me that's not what punk's about. But then again, punk basically means 'do what you want' so I could be mistaken. I don't like their post 1990 albums like American Psycho and Famous Monsters though.

Ironically, the Misfits albums I like are the ones with Danzig as the singer, a man who I literally can't stand. I find his metal stuff extremely embarrassing tbh.

Oh he's a massive twat ,he's pretty much been involved in litigation of one type or another since the 80's which says something. That's without going into his weird Odin obsession, flirtations with aryanism and his bizarre spat with the Nation of Islam( litigation again:bg:)
His attempt at black metal is fucking hilarious, if you are going to have a go at it at least do it properly.

Never had time for Cock Sparrer, and I don't think 'England belongs to me' is actually an anti-fascist song like they claim it to be. Oi! and it's sub-genres are a little tricky to navigate for someone like myself, a left-winger, so I steer clear of all Oi related bands, with the exception of Oi Polloi obviously. However, if I'm being honest, I don't like Oi music in general, and also a lot of what is classed as street punk.

Sacrilege were a another good band before the inevitable switch to money-making metal crap, not that they did make any, but that's beside the point. Their first lp -a mini lp actually - is a classic, but to everyone's amazement at the time, they didn't include 'Dig your own grave',one of their early better songs, on it, and was only released as a demo on a double Mortarhate comp album.

Anyways, they've re recorded this track, and whilst not as excellent as the demo version , it's still reasonably good.

Here's the original demo

Ah where would we be without the mighty Discharge!

I like a lot of oi music and I'm not going to let fash wankers ruin it for me. There's loads of antifa oi bands. Blaggers, Angelic upstarts, oi polloi as you mention, even early Ruts.
