Well use it then!

It's very tight in the top 7. Only a few points between 3rd and 7th.
There are 11 games remaining (12 for some teams).
Our form over the previous 12 games has seen us pick up a pathetic 12 points where as in the same period teams below us have been in much better form than us.
If you were looking at things without your blue tinted glasses on, who would you think is more likely to pick up more points in the next 12 games? Teams in form with confidence and momentum, or a team who've been playing like they are in a relegation scrap for the past 2 months?

Well if we're so shit then why don't you just stop supporting us then? I bet the only match you have been to recently was the Everton match last season, you're obviously one of those missing nine thousand Carlisle fans who never turn up to league games anymore.

Look mate if you don't think we're good enough to go up then fair enough that's your opinion, just stop going as far as calling us shite and a relegation team because it's pissing me off and what's worse is now all these other fans of other clubs are joining in.

Why would I stop supporting us because we're shit? Do you think if I wanted to support a team for the glory I'd have picked Carlisle?

I was at the Everton match last season yes. I've also been to all home league games this season bar the Hartlepool match. I've also been present at Portsmouth, Luton, Colchester, Orient among others this season.

Just because I go to games doesn't mean I have to kid myself that we're a great team. We're fucking ostrich shite at the moment and on current form we're going to blow automatic promotion and even top 7. Do you think I'm pleased about that? No I'm fucking pissed off as it would be a glorious chance absolutely wasted. I'm hoping and hoping that we can somehow miraculously turn our performances and results around.

The reason I have been commenting had sod all to do with HelloGregory. There are two reasons. First, up to Xmas I thought you were the best side in the league and were our main competition, this is no longer the case. And I am interested in why. Second, we played you yesterday, so you have currency. In two weeks I will have move on and probably have forgotten about Carlisle.

This from the guy who couldnt be arsed to go to a Carlisle game earlier in the season because you might have got a bit wet. :brill:

And that's your problem right there, you get too worked up from it all and it makes you depressed and that spreads to other fans, you must be more relaxed and realise that sometimes it's actually quite good for us to lose a couple of games every now and then.

Loving this thread. IMHO it's looking like the top two are unlikely to be moved and there will eventually be a two-horse race for 3rd spot (Luton & Stevenage). Things may change of course, but those were two thumping wins on Saturday and show that those two teams are well up for it.

As for us - we may well win on Tuesday and sneak into third place but no way do we have the bottle to stay up there. We played like a team that has totally run out of steam on Saturday. Which is strange considering we have a big squad and went out of all the cups early.

Think the next two weeks will have a HUGE bearing on who's in the running for 3rd spot - and our chances of that. Stevenage (H), Carlisle (A) and Exeter (H). Still think Pompey will be there or there abouts come the end of the season though. As one sage manager said 'Never too high...never too low'. One thing's for certain - it's going to go down to the wire!

Oh - and finally decided to register and join here after lurking for eon's...Hello to those who remember me from 606 and from ConfForum :)

The next 3 are massive, massive games for us. If we come out of them with positive results then we look decently placed. I do worry about our mentality in big games such as this 3 coming up but should be exciting at the very least!

Already looking forward to Saturdays against Stevenage should be a great game and hopefully a decent atmosphere.

Could be some sparks flying with Danny and Wilko going up against each other too! :box:

Our game next Tuesday will be a bit fiery too I imagine, after Hylton's antics in the reverse fixture and Jones' post-match comments.

We've got to beat Cambridge this Saturday who've not got much left to play for.

If it's OK I'm just sitting this whole shit-show out and will instead curl up into a ball and cry myself to sleep until such a point as we win again. The only saving grace is that the likes of Luton and Pompey have shown themselves just as likely to fuck things up and even if we do get overtaken by them we've every chance of regaining third place should we turn our form around.

Our run in is not kind. We still have to play all 9 other teams current in the top 10. We need to start scoring some goals again, I can see the dropped points against Accrington, Yeovil or Cheltenham being the difference for us.

Idiot.
Can you explain why a single typographical error makes me an idiot? Einstein, Winston Churchill and George Washington were notoriously poor spellers, presumbly under your definition they were idiots too?

If we are liquidated on the 20th March all your results against us will become void :animatedf: #justsaying

Damn it that would mean we lose all the points that we've won against you so far, so those 0 points we may have to give back could really come back to hurt us at the end of the season. :bg:

Typical - we wait 40 years to beat you and this happens. Incredibly selfish of you Os not to think of the effect this may have on our promotion plight :lac:

I think the fact that Grimsby have taken 0 points off Orient means they should be liquidated too....

Hehe we've only played them once and it was early season before all of their problems started mounting.

Well it's been a great run, a fantastic run.

But tonight, finally we have surrendered our top 3 position. We will not get it back as we are no where near good enough. Now our aim over the next 11 games has to be keep our top 7 position, somehow.

Luton also have a game in hand, so we could be occupying the play off spots soon if our current form continues
